Greeting and welcome to our 3rd newsletter!

Ran into some issues importing custom animations for the new player model last week so I wasn’t able to get my videos out. I have finally figured out that pipeline so the Dev Log will continue on Friday. Still hammering out my filming process but I think I’ll need to make a shorter Dev Log for the week even if I don’t get what I had planned done. Always learning and improving!

Last Week:

Finished high level list of requirements for steam store page: (Early September store launch)

  • Stealth material for player and sneak takedown without weapon from behind
  • Environmental Art: 3 Biomes (1 module that showcases each)
  • Basic Mini map with view cones for camera and guards
  • Hacking system navigation on larger version of Mini Map you enter by hitting M key
  • Movement and animation (death from above) with daggers as weapon
  • Movement and animation (pistol shoot) with silenced pistol as weapon
  • Damage of units with death animation and particle system cubes
  • Capsule art and other assets/descriptions needed for store page

Integrated character model and movement system for pistol aim this week, looking good but a bit more refinement is still needed. These are static animation poses that are blended together for the pistol aim. Note the arm data isn’t needed as my gun rig does IK for arms.

Environmental art is in progress, don’t have anything to show yet but I should have some initial concepts ready very soon! In the mean time here are some of the images I’m using as part of my mood board

Next Week:

  • A bit more Pistol Aim
  • Finish 3 modules, one for each biome
  • Finish pistol movement, animation and damage
  • Start on damage and death effect in Unreal Niagra
